German Conjunctions Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

A guide to using german conjunctions with translations and tips.

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Coordinating Conjunctions

When using Coordinating Conjunctions, the word order says the same if they were two seperate sentances. Although be aware that sometimes you might take a few words out to make it flow better with a conjunction

Example:
Ich mag den hund. Ich mag die katze
(i love the dog. i love the cat)

ich mag den hund und ich mag die katze
(i love the dog and i love the cat)

Er will zu fahren. Er hat keinen Auto.
(he wants to drive. He doesnt have a car)

Er will zu fahren, aber, er hat keinen Auto.
(he wants to drive but he doesnt have a car)

Es ist nicht warm. Es ist kalt
(it is not warm. It is cold)

Es is nicht warm, sondern kalt
(it is not warm. but rather cold)

aber vs sondern
